Synopsis
A Korean Odyssey (2017) is a Korean fantasy series you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Kim Jung-hyun and Park Hong-gyun for tvN, the show transplants the mythical creatures of the classic Chinese epic Journey to the West into contemporary Seoul — and then puts a woman who sees spirits right in the middle of them.
Jin Sun-mi has lived with ghosts her whole life. As a child she stumbles into a bargain with Son Oh-gong, the legendary Great Sage Equal to Heaven, long sealed away. Lee Seung-gi plays Oh-gong: vain, unpredictable, and very hungry. Cha Seung-won is the ancient demon Bull Demon King, who has his own agenda. Oh Yeon-seo is Sun-mi — mortal, stubborn, and somehow indispensable to both of them.
The series was written by Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran, the duo behind Goblin, so the comedy has real edges to it. Twenty episodes, a mythology-heavy plot, and an ending that still splits fan opinion years later. Stream A Korean Odyssey online on iFILM.
