Peter Bretter spent five years dating TV actress Sarah Marshall. She dumps him immediately and completely — right in his own apartment, while he is wearing nothing. Jason Segel wrote the script and plays Peter as a guy who falls apart with genuine, uncomfortable sincerity. His friend tells him to get out of town. He flies to Hawaii. At the hotel check-in, he meets Rachel Jansen — Mila Kunis. Two doors down, Sarah has arrived with her new boyfriend, British rock star Aldous Snow played by Russell Brand at full volume. Bill Hader and Jonah Hill round out a supporting cast that keeps adding fuel to the disaster.
