City of Ember

City of Ember (2008) is a family fantasy adventure you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Gil Kenan and based on Jeanne DuPrau's novel. Saoirse Ronan and Harry Treadaway lead the cast, with Bill Murray as the corrupt mayor and Tim Robbins as Doon's father.

Ember is an underground city built to shelter humanity — but nobody remembers why, or that there was ever a world above. The generator is old and failing. Lights flicker for longer each day. The founders left encrypted exit instructions sealed in a box, passed down from mayor to mayor — until one lost it and said nothing. Teenager Lina Mayfleet finds torn fragments of those instructions by accident, and she and her classmate Doon Harrow have to piece together an escape route before the city goes dark for good.
