Synopsis

The Girl Next Door (2007) is an American crime-horror drama directed by Gregory Wilson — stream it online on iFILM. Runtime 91 minutes. Starring Blythe Auffarth, Daniel Manche and Blanche Baker.

It's the summer of 1958 in a quiet American suburb. Two newly orphaned sisters move in with a distant relative the neighborhood kids call Aunt Ruth. From the outside the house looks ordinary. Inside, Ruth (Blanche Baker) drinks with her boys, makes her own rules, and gradually crosses lines that cannot be uncrossed. The boy next door, David (Daniel Manche), is drawn to the older sister Meg (Blythe Auffarth) and watches the situation deteriorate. He sees enough to know something is wrong. He waits too long to act.

Director Wilson adapted the film from Jack Ketchum's novel, which itself drew from a documented Indianapolis case of the early 1960s. The approach is deliberately restrained — no stylized horror mechanics, just the weight of ordinary circumstances turning catastrophic. That choice makes the film harder to shake than most in the genre. Watch The Girl Next Door (2007) online on iFILM.
