Synopsis
Love & Other Drugs (2010) — watch online on iFILM — is Edward Zwick's romantic dramedy from Fox 2000 Pictures and New Regency Pictures, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. The film is based on Jamie Reidy's memoir about his years as a Pfizer pharmaceutical rep in the late 1990s, when Viagra was reshaping the industry.
Jamie Randall is genuinely good at selling — so Pfizer ships him to Ohio to push their newest pill. He meets Maggie at a doctor's office: sharp, funny, and completely uninterested in letting anyone close. She has early-onset Parkinson's disease and handles it on her own terms. Jamie is used to charming his way through anything. This time the approach doesn't hold. Oliver Platt plays Jamie's fast-talking boss, and Josh Gad brings comic chaos as his brother, but the film's real weight rests on two people trying to figure out whether love is worth the risk of need.
