Synopsis

Boys Don't Cry (1999) — watch online on iFILM. Directed by Kimberly Peirce, the film follows Brandon Teena, a young trans man who builds a new life in small-town Nebraska in the early 1990s. Hilary Swank won the Academy Award for Best Actress. The screenplay draws from documented events and court records.

Brandon arrives in Falls City, fits in fast — drinking, charming, falling in love. A local woman genuinely falls for him. Chloë Sevigny plays her with warmth and no simple judgments; Peter Sarsgaard plays the threat that starts as social discomfort and ends in violence.

Peirce shoots with deliberate closeness — no protective irony, no safe remove. The film is hard to watch by design, and that is exactly why it holds up: Brandon reads as a person, not a cause. Stream Boys Don't Cry (1999) in full online on iFILM.
