Synopsis

Submarine (2011) — watch online on iFILM — is a British coming-of-age comedy-drama, the debut feature of director Richard Ayoade, adapted from Joe Dunthorne's novel. Fifteen-year-old Oliver Tate lives in Swansea and keeps meticulous mental records of two parallel crises: his parents' crumbling marriage, and his own cautious pursuit of sharp-tongued classmate Jordana.

Oliver narrates everything with the deadpan gravity of someone who believes he's the most interesting person in any room. He isn't wrong about everything — but he's wrong about enough. His father has sunk into quiet depression, his mother is drifting toward a smooth-talking ex, and Jordana operates by rules Oliver can't decode. Craig Roberts and Yasmin Paige carry the film with an authentically awkward chemistry.

Released with Ben Stiller as executive producer, the film found a devoted cult following far beyond its festival run. Stream Submarine (2011) in full quality on iFILM.
