Thor is in the middle of a cosmic identity crisis when a new killer arrives: Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), a grief-wrecked survivor armed with the Necrosword, a blade that can slay any deity. His list of targets is long. Thor teams up with Jane, King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and rock creature Korg to track Gorr across the galaxy — including a brief, chaotic stop at Olympus, where Russell Crowe plays a self-absorbed Zeus. The Guardians of the Galaxy show up in the opening stretch before the story takes a harder, stranger turn.
