Diana, princess of the Amazons, was raised on the hidden island of Themyscira — trained as a warrior, shielded from the outside world. When American spy Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crash-lands on the island's shores, he brings news of the Great War: millions dead, a German general named Ludendorff developing a weapon that could kill millions more. Diana believes the god of war Ares is behind it all — and that stopping him is her purpose. She leaves Themyscira for the mud of the Western Front, where her sword and lasso meet machine guns and mustard gas.
