Alien: Romulus (2024) is a sci-fi horror from 20th Century Studios that you can watch online on iFILM. Director Fede Álvarez — best known for the Evil Dead remake — stripped the franchise back to what made the 1979 original terrifying: a small group of people, a derelict structure, and no way out.

Rain (Cailee Spaeny) wants off the mining colony where she was born. She and her android companion Andy (David Jonsson) lead a handful of fellow colonists onto an abandoned Weyland-Yutani orbital station called Romulus to salvage the cryo-pods they need to escape. The station is not empty. What they find inside goes beyond an infestation — it is evidence of an experiment that has already mutated past anything the corporation planned. Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, and Spike Fearn round out the young cast, while the android Rook is built around a digital recreation of the late Ian Holm, performed facially and vocally by Daniel Betts.

Made for $80 million and earning over $350 million at the worldwide box office, Romulus proved the franchise has teeth again.
