Synopsis

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) is the eighth episode of the Skywalker Saga — a Lucasfilm sci-fi action epic you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Rian Johnson and running 152 minutes, it earned over $1.3 billion worldwide and became one of the most debated entries in the franchise.

Rey arrives on the remote island of Ahch-To, where Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker has exiled himself and closed the Jedi Order for reasons he refuses to explain. Training is not what she expects. Back in space, the Resistance fleet is being slowly hunted down by the First Order, with Leia — Carrie Fisher's final performance — holding command from the bridge. Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver, is pulled between loyalty to Supreme Leader Snoke and a Force connection to Rey that neither of them chose. Finn, Poe Dameron, and a new ally named Rose Tico each face decisions that cost more than they bargained for.

Rian Johnson stripped away certainties the franchise had carried for forty years. The cast — Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Benicio del Toro — made the handoff from old heroes to new feel genuinely earned and genuinely painful at the same time.
