After a mission leaves civilians dead, the world's governments demand oversight and ask the heroes to sign an accord. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) believes they can no longer operate unchecked. On one side stand Iron Man, Black Widow and a teenage Spider-Man; on the other, Captain America, Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Pulling the strings from the shadows is Baron Zemo, who needs no army to crack the planet's strongest team.

This is the tenth chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the screen debut of both Black Panther and a rebooted Spider-Man. The airport battle, with a dozen heroes trading blows in a single sequence, has been quoted ever since. No tidy good against evil here: each side has a point, and that is what makes the ending land.
