Leonora in the Morning Light

Leonora in the Morning Light (2025) is a historical drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Thor Klein and Lena Vurma. Olivia Vinall plays Carrington across several decades. The film opens with her years alongside Max Ernst (Alexander Scheer) and in the orbit of André Breton's Paris circle — then follows her flight to Mexico, where she found a genuine community, built a close friendship with fellow painter Remedios Varo (Cassandra Ciangherotti), and developed a body of work that blended folklore, occultism and sharp personal mythology. Patrons like Peggy Guggenheim (Mercedes Bahleda) helped her gain visibility. But the imagination that drove the paintings also drove her to the edge more than once.
