Tetris

Tetris (2023) is a British biographical thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Taron Egerton plays Henk Rogers, an American video game entrepreneur who stumbled onto a Soviet puzzle game in 1988 and immediately understood he was looking at something that could sell everywhere.

Getting the rights meant flying into a Moscow that was still very much the USSR. Rogers arrived to find competing buyers, state-controlled distribution bodies, and officials with no interest in letting a foreigner walk away with a windfall. Nikita Efremov plays Alexey Pajitnov, the programmer who built Tetris and watched others profit from it for years. Anthony Boyle is Robert Maxwell Jr., one of Rogers' sharpest rivals in the deal. Director Jon S. Baird shapes the licensing fight into a chase film — surveillance, diplomatic pressure, and the real possibility of not making it out.
