Synopsis
Young Mothers (Jeunes mères, 2025) is a French-Belgian drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne — the filmmakers behind Rosetta and L'Enfant. Five young women share a shelter: Jessica (Babette Verbeek), Perla (Lucie Laruelle), Julie (Elsa Houben), Ariane (Janaïna Halloy Fokan), and Naïma (Samia Hilmi). Each arrived with an infant and a history of circumstances that left little room for easy choices. The shelter gives them a roof and a psychologist. What it cannot give them is what none of them had growing up. The Dardennes follow each woman at close range — no score, no commentary, just the daily arithmetic of trying to become someone different from what life prepared you to be.
