About

Synopsis

Piranha 3D (2010) — watch online this R-rated horror-comedy on iFILM, directed by Alexandre Aja. Arizona's Lake Victoria fills with fifty thousand Spring Break revelers every year. This particular year, a seismic event splits the lake bed and releases a school of prehistoric piranha that have been sealed underground for two million years.

Sheriff Julie (Elisabeth Shue) tries to clear the water while a sleazy video producer (Jerry O'Connell) refuses to stop filming. Richard Dreyfuss appears in the opening minutes — an unmistakable nod to Jaws — and Christopher Lloyd plays a marine biologist who identifies the species from a single tooth with barely-contained glee. Aja keeps the tone gleefully excessive: the piranhas hunt in coordinated swarms, the 3D effects are deployed with maximum bad taste, and the film never pretends to be anything other than what it is.

It's a shameless B-movie that commits fully to the premise. Stream Piranha 3D (2010) online on iFILM.
