Synopsis
The Last Viking (Den sidste viking, 2025) is a Danish-Swedish dark comedy crime film — watch online on iFILM. Directed by Anders Thomas Jensen and produced by Zentropa Entertainments, with Mads Mikkelsen and Nikolaj Lie Kaas leading.
Anker walks out of prison after fourteen years for armed robbery. The cash from that job was buried by his brother Manfred — the only person who knew where. Problem: Manfred's mind has come apart in the years since, and the location is gone with it. Mikkelsen plays Manfred with a scrambled memory and his own version of reality; Kaas plays Anker, who has to coax something usable out of him. So they hit the road together — hunting the money, picking through what happened between them, and figuring out how to share a car without killing each other.
Jensen made Adam's Apples and The Green Butchers — films where Danish bleakness and deadpan absurdity arrive in the same package. The Last Viking screened at TIFF. Stream it online on iFILM.
