Home from the Hill

Home from the Hill (1960) is a Southern Gothic drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Vincente Minnelli for MGM. Robert Mitchum plays Wade Hannassey, a Texas landowner who rules his county, beds half the women in it, and is despised by his wife Hannah for exactly that.

Wade wants to make a man out of his pampered son Theron and puts him in the charge of ranch hand Rafe — without mentioning that Rafe is his own illegitimate son. The two half-brothers bond without knowing they share blood. Small-town secrets travel fast, and when the truth surfaces it hits everyone in the family at once.
