Timecrimes

Timecrimes (Los cronocrímenes, 2007) is a Spanish sci-fi thriller written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo — watch it online on iFILM. Hector is nobody special: a middle-aged man, a house in the country, an ordinary Tuesday. Then he spots a woman through his binoculars in the nearby woods, goes to investigate, and stumbles into something he cannot walk back from.

Chased by a stranger whose face is wrapped in bloody bandages, Hector ducks into a research facility and accidentally triggers a machine that sends him back roughly one hour. Now there are two of him outside. Each move he makes to untangle the situation creates a new knot — and the film tracks every knot with unusual discipline. Karra Elejalde plays Hector as a man running entirely on adrenaline and bad instincts, which makes the spiral feel completely plausible.
