Synopsis

Duncan is 14, awkward, and stuck. His mother's new boyfriend Trent — played by Carell against type, cold and casually cutting — has already decided the kid is a loser. Every day at the beach house feels like evidence. Then Duncan slips away and lands a summer job at the Water Wizz water park, where the manager Owen takes an interest. Owen is loose, funny and genuinely decent. For the first time that summer, someone is in Duncan's corner.
