Synopsis
Endeavour (2013–2023) is a British crime drama from ITV Studios you can watch online on iFILM. Nine series, 35 feature-length episodes, story complete. Shaun Evans plays the young Endeavour Morse.
Oxford, the 1960s. Morse is a detective constable — too clever for his own good, never without a crossword, and constitutionally incapable of letting a wrong go unpunished. His senior officer DI Fred Thursday, played by Roger Allam, runs cases on instinct and quiet authority. Together they work murders across the university city while Britain shifts decade by decade around them. One casting detail: Abigail Thaw, who plays journalist Dorothea Frazil, is the real-life daughter of John Thaw — the actor who portrayed the older Morse in the original ITV series Inspector Morse (1987–2000).
All nine series were written by Russell Lewis, who turned each episode into a standalone film complete with Oxford architecture and a jazz-heavy score. The show traces how a brilliant but difficult young man earns his instincts — through bad calls, institutional betrayal, and the cost of being right when no one wants to hear it.
