There's no need to speak. You must only...concentrate and recall all your past life. When a man thinks of the past, he becomes kinder.
Synopsis
The Sopranos (1999–2007) is an HBO crime drama you can watch online. Mob boss Tony Soprano runs a New Jersey crew by day and quietly comes apart by night. Panic attacks land him on a therapist's couch — a secret that could get him killed if his associates ever found out.
Creator David Chase hangs the whole show on one problem: Tony has two families, and both keep dragging him under. At home there's Carmela (Edie Falco), who sees through every lie, plus the kids Meadow and A.J. growing up too fast. In the business there's scheming Uncle Junior and reckless protégé Christopher Moltisanti (Michael Imperioli). And in Dr. Jennifer Melfi's office (Lorraine Bracco), Tony finally says out loud what he'd never admit anywhere else.
James Gandolfini's Tony rewrote what a television antihero could be and helped launch the prestige-TV era. Eighty-six episodes, 21 Emmy Awards, and a final scene people still argue about. Under the gangster surface it's really about anxiety, guilt and one very American family that happens to terrify half the state. Stream all six seasons of The Sopranos online on iFILM.
