Tekkonkinkreet

Tekkonkinkreet (鉄コン筋クリート, 2006) — watch online on iFILM — is an action-animation film from STUDIO4℃ and Aniplex, directed by Michael Arias from a screenplay adapted from Taiyō Matsumoto's manga. Kazunari Ninomiya and Yu Aoi voice the leads.

Treasure Town is loud, layered and held together by two orphan boys: Black and White. Black fights first and thinks later. White sees things others can't. They've claimed every alley in the city as their own. When a corporation moves in to demolish the old neighbourhoods for an amusement park, the two take on yakuza, hired killers and city hall at once. But the real fight is the one pulling Black apart from the inside.

STUDIO4℃ built a visual world here — hand-drawn streets dense enough to feel real — and composer Plaid scored it with enough edge to match.
