Synopsis
Daddy Day Care (2003) is a family comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Steve Carr for Columbia Pictures. Eddie Murphy plays Charlie, a marketing executive who gets laid off and ends up at home full-time with his young son — which was not part of the plan.
His colleague Phil, played by Jeff Garlin, loses his job the same week. The two unemployed fathers decide the solution is obvious: open a daycare center. No license, no training, limited funds, and a house full of small children who have no interest in following anyone's rules. Steve Zahn joins as a third partner whose contributions to the operation are mostly chaotic. Meanwhile the director of the upscale rival center — played by Anjelica Huston — is watching closely and has every intention of running them out of the business before they get started.
The film runs on Murphy's instincts. He finds the physical comedy in situations that look thin on paper, and the scenes with the kids land better than they have any right to. Watch Daddy Day Care online on iFILM.
