About

Synopsis

Watch Quarantine (2008) online on iFILM — a found-footage horror film from director John Erick Dowdle that runs entirely through one camera. Reporter Angela Vidal, played by Jennifer Carpenter, and her cameraman tag along with a Los Angeles fire crew for what should be a dull overnight feature.

A call to an apartment building turns the night inside out. Upstairs, a bloodied old woman is shrieking and biting, and by the time anyone reacts the police have locked the place down from outside. Phones die. Nobody gets out. The infection spreads floor by floor, and the people it reaches go feral and nearly impossible to put down. Jay Hernandez plays a firefighter who keeps his nerve longer than the panicking tenants around him, while the authorities just watch from the street with no intention of helping.

It is the American remake of Spain's [REC], and Dowdle kept the thing that made the original land: the walls close in and never let up, because the lens almost never points at the floor. Best for viewers who want horror right up against the skin rather than a tidy slasher. Stream Quarantine (2008) online on iFILM.
