Synopsis

The Green Inferno (2013) is an extreme horror film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Eli Roth. A group of New York college activists flies deep into the Peruvian Amazon to stop illegal logging and protect an indigenous tribe. Their plane goes down in the jungle. The tribe they came to save takes them prisoner.

Lorenza Izzo and Ariel Levy lead the cast. Roth filmed on location in Peru and cast actual residents of a remote village as the tribe — people who had never seen a movie before watching one of their own dailies on a laptop during production. Shot over a joint US-Chile-Canada production, the film finally reached audiences in 2013 after a release delay of two years.

Roth built the film as a deliberate homage to 1970s–80s Italian cannibal cinema, especially Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust. It is brutal and uncompromising, and made for genre fans who know exactly what they're in for. Stream The Green Inferno (2013) online on iFILM.
