Synopsis
Friday the 13th (2009) is a slasher you can watch online on iFILM. This reboot of the cult horror franchise brings Jason Voorhees and his machete back to the shores of Crystal Lake — and plays it mean, with no nostalgia discount.
First a handful of hikers wander into the woods near an abandoned camp where a killer once hunted, and almost none of them come back. Six months later a louder crowd shows up at the same lake for a weekend of partying, drinking and bonfires. Meanwhile Clay arrives looking for his missing sister, knocking on doors with no idea the forest is already watching everyone. Jared Padalecki plays the dogged brother, and Danielle Panabaker the girl who ends up on his side by accident.
Director Marcus Nispel, fresh off remaking The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, reshapes Jason into something faster and more calculating — a hunter with underground tunnels and traps rather than a lumbering giant. Blood, darkness and brief lulls before the next sprint. No deeper meaning here, just a clean scare machine for genre fans. Stream Friday the 13th (2009) online on iFILM.
