Sergio works at a crumbling public school on the US-Mexico border. His students have learned not to expect much — from the adults around them or from school itself. He starts asking questions he doesn't already know the answers to. Three kids in particular — Chucho, Paloma, and Lupe — start to respond. Not because school suddenly gets easier, but because someone finally treats their thinking as worth something.

The film draws from the real story of teacher Sergio Juárez Correa, whose classroom experiment was covered by Wired magazine in 2013. Produced by 3Pas Studios — Eugenio Derbez's own production company — it won the Audience Award at Sundance 2023. Stream Radical online on iFILM.
