About

Synopsis

The Karate Kid Part II (1986) is a Columbia Pictures action-adventure drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director John G. Avildsen reunited the original cast: Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi, who receives word that his father is dying.

Miyagi hasn't set foot in Okinawa for forty years. When he finally does, his old rival Sato (Danny Kamekona) is waiting — a grudge three decades in the making. Daniel, along for the journey, finds an opponent of his own in Sato's nephew Chozen (Yuji Okumoto), and something closer to the opposite in Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita). The fights here aren't staged on a tournament mat. They happen in a typhoon.

Released in June 1986, the film earned over 115 million dollars against a 13 million dollar budget. Avildsen shot it fresh off his Oscar win for Rocky. The sequel shifts the whole franchise from California to Okinawa and trades competition rules for something more personal. Stream The Karate Kid Part II (1986) in good quality on iFILM.
