11.22.63 (Season 1)
When you fight the past, the past fights back.
Synopsis
11.22.63 (2016) is a Hulu limited series you can watch online on iFILM. James Franco plays Jake Epping, a high school English teacher who steps through a portal into 1960 and takes on a mission that sounds impossible: reach Dallas before the shots ring out on November 22, 1963, and stop what happens there.
Eight episodes follow Jake as he builds a life in early-1960s Texas — falling for a local librarian played by Sarah Gadon, gaining the trust of strangers, and keeping a quiet eye on Lee Harvey Oswald, portrayed by Daniel Webber with unsettling specificity. The premise turns on a single rule: the past doesn't want to be changed. The harder Jake pushes, the harder it pushes back. Chris Cooper and Josh Duhamel round out a strong ensemble.
The series adapts Stephen King's 2011 novel, with J.J. Abrams and Bridget Lane producing. Kevin Macdonald, James Strong, and Fred Toye share the directing credits across the run. Stream all episodes of 11.22.63 on iFILM.
