Synopsis
I Saw the Devil (악마를 보았다, 2010) is a Korean thriller from director Kim Jee-woon that you can watch online on iFILM. Secret agent Kim Soo-hyun loses his fiancée to a serial killer, and grief curdles into something far darker.
Soo-hyun tracks the murderer down fast. The man is Kyung-chul, a psychopath who kills for the thrill of it. But the agent refuses to hand him over. Instead he turns the hunt into a brutal loop: catch, wound, release, repeat. Lee Byung-hun plays the avenger; Choi Min-sik, the Oldboy himself, plays the monster. The longer the chase runs, the harder it gets to tell predator from prey.
This is a film about what vengeance does to the person seeking it. Across 144 punishing minutes, Kim Jee-woon stages violence that horrifies rather than entertains, building to an ending that lands like a fist. One of the harshest entries in Korea's new wave.
