Synopsis
The Breakfast Club (1985) is John Hughes's defining teen drama — watch online on iFILM. Written and directed by Hughes for Universal Pictures, the film runs 97 minutes and barely leaves a single room: a high school library where five students are locked in for a Saturday detention.
A jock, a princess, a rebel, a brain, and an outcast. On paper they share nothing. Vice Principal Vernon (Paul Gleason) assigns them an essay and expects silence. What he gets is eight hours of confrontation, confession, and a slow unravelling of every label they arrived with. Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, and Ally Sheedy play the five — each carrying a story their school hallway persona would never admit to.
Made for $1 million and grossed over $51 million at the box office, the film became the signature work of the Brat Pack era.
