Single mother Karen Barclay buys her six-year-old son Andy a Good Guy doll from a street peddler. What she doesn't know: a dying serial killer named Charles Lee Ray just transferred his soul into the toy. Andy knows the doll is alive. No one believes him. That gap — a child telling the truth to a world that won't listen — drives the tension through the film's entire 87 minutes.
