Synopsis
Road House (1989) is a cult American action film directed by Rowdy Herrington that you can watch online on iFILM. Patrick Swayze plays Dalton — a professional bouncer with a philosophy degree, a reputation that precedes him across three states, and a habit of getting stitches without anesthetic while carrying on a calm conversation. Sam Elliott is his mentor Wade Garrett. Ben Gazzara plays the local villain Brad Wesley with a quiet menace that makes the whole town feel smaller.
Dalton is brought in to clean up the Double Deuce, a roadside bar in Jasper, Missouri where the staff skims the till, the customers throw bottles, and the floor gets mopped with someone's face most nights. He takes the job seriously. Troublemakers get removed, bartenders who steal get fired, and the place slowly starts to resemble a functioning business. The problem is Wesley owns half of Jasper and considers the town his personal property — Dalton's order is a direct challenge he can't ignore.
Swayze performed most of the fight work himself; the combat was choreographed to match his real taekwondo background, which is why the brawls feel grounded rather than theatrical. The film took years to earn its reputation — originally dismissed as trashy, it became required viewing on late-night cable and never left. Stream Road House (1989) online on iFILM.
