Conclave (2024) is Edward Berger's tense Vatican thriller you can watch online on iFILM. When the Pope dies, the cardinals lock themselves inside the Sistine Chapel to choose his successor — and to settle a few private scores along the way.

Running the vote falls to Cardinal Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes), the dean of the college and a man quietly losing his own faith. The frontrunners circle each other: liberal Bellini (Stanley Tucci), hardliner Tedesco, the calculating Tremblay. Then an unknown cardinal arrives from Kabul, and Lawrence stumbles onto a secret that could bring the whole election down. Every plume of smoke from the chimney pulls the knot tighter.

Adapted from Robert Harris's novel, the film won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay out of eight nominations. Berger stages the ritual like a chess match — scarlet robes against bare stone, a hush broken only by ballots being counted.
