Synopsis
The Lucky One (2012) is a romantic drama directed by Scott Hicks, adapted from Nicholas Sparks' novel — watch it online on iFILM. Zac Efron plays Logan Thibault, a Marine who survived three tours in Iraq while the men around him did not, and credits a photograph he found in the rubble for keeping him alive.
The woman in the photo is a stranger. Logan walks across several states to find her in a small Louisiana town. Her name is Beth (Taylor Schilling) and she runs a dog kennel with her young son and her grandmother (Blythe Danner). Beth is wary and then curious. Logan takes a job on the property and says almost nothing about where he came from or why he showed up. The photograph stays in his pocket.
