Mountain ranger Gabe Walker answers what looks like a routine rescue call in the Rockies. It isn't. A heavily armed crew led by the calculating criminal Qualen — played with cold menace by John Lithgow — has lured him up into the peaks to track down three cases of cash lost after a mid-air heist. His partner Hal Tucker (Michael Rooker) is their hostage, the terrain belongs to Gabe, and that's the only card he has left to play.
