Brothers

Brothers (2009) is Jim Sheridan's war drama you can watch online on iFILM. Marine captain Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire) ships out for a fourth tour in Afghanistan. When his helicopter goes down, the military tells his family he is gone.

Back home are his wife Grace (Natalie Portman), two young daughters, and Sam's reckless younger brother Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal), fresh out of prison. Tommy starts showing up for the widow. He fixes the kitchen, drives the girls, slowly earns their trust. Then word arrives that nobody expected. Sam is alive. He comes home a changed, haunted man, and quiet suspicion starts tearing the house apart.

Sheridan's film reworks Susanne Bier's Danish original, and the three leads keep it raw and tense. Maguire, playing an officer broken by captivity, earned a Golden Globe nomination for the role.
