Cinderella (2021) is an American musical fantasy directed by Kay Cannon — watch online on iFILM. Singer Camila Cabello leads as a young dressmaker whose goal is not to marry a prince but to launch her own fashion business. The glass slipper is almost beside the point.

The film reworks the fairy tale as a full pop-musical spectacle. Billy Porter plays the Fabulous Godmother, arriving in a magnificent ballgown and running on pure charisma. Idris Elba voices the town crier. Nicolas Galitzine is the prince — a character here allowed to question what he actually wants rather than simply pursue whoever dropped a shoe. Idina Menzel is the stepmother, Minnie Driver the queen, Pierce Brosnan the king. The soundtrack weaves pop standards — "Somebody to Love", "Seven Nation Army", "Material Girl" — alongside original songs by Cabello.

Kay Cannon made no secret that this version was aimed at viewers who found the original Cinderella too passive. It is loud, primary-coloured and unapologetically direct about its message.
