Dances with Wolves (1990) is Kevin Costner's epic Western drama you can watch online on iFILM. Costner directed and starred: his Lieutenant John Dunbar, wounded during the Civil War, requests a transfer to the most remote outpost on the frontier. He gets exactly what he asked for. Mary McDonnell plays Stands With A Fist, a white woman raised by the tribe who helps bridge the language gap; Graham Greene is Kicking Bird, the medicine man who decides the stranger is worth knowing. The friendship that follows is the real story. Composer John Barry scored the sweeping landscapes Costner filmed across South Dakota.

Produced by Tig Productions on a $22 million budget, the film grossed over $424 million worldwide. At the 1991 Academy Awards it took home seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay — the latter based on Michael Blake's novel.
