The Mummy

The Mummy (1999) is a action-adventure fantasy directed by Stephen Sommers — watch it online on iFILM. Brendan Fraser plays Rick O'Connell, a rough-around-the-edges soldier who stumbles onto the cursed ruins of Hamunaptra during a skirmish in 1920s Egypt. Egyptologist Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz) accidentally breaks the seal on the sarcophagus of Imhotep, a high priest buried alive three thousand years ago for a forbidden affair with the pharaoh's mistress. He comes back — and he wants revenge. Her wisecracking brother Jonathan (John Hannah) tags along for the ride. Arnold Vosloo plays Imhotep with real menace: not a mindless creature, but a man with a grudge and ancient powers to back it up.
