The Mask

The Mask (1994) is a comedy-fantasy from New Line Cinema and Dark Horse Entertainment you can watch online on iFILM. Director Chuck Russell built the film around Jim Carrey at the height of his rubber-faced powers: bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss pulls an ancient wooden mask from a riverbed, and when he puts it on, he turns into a cartoon-speed force of nature driven by the Norse god Loki.

Stanley is a pushover in ordinary life. He fumbles around Tina Carlyle — played by Cameron Diaz in her feature debut — and can't get a straight answer from anyone. The mask changes all that. At night, the transformed Stanley robs the bank that humiliated him, dances through a nightclub, and outruns an entire police department with a novelty bazooka. Gangster Dorian Tyrrell wants the mask for himself, which is where things get genuinely dangerous.
