The Scorpion King

The Scorpion King (2002) is a Universal Pictures action-fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Chuck Russell set the story in an ancient world that predates the pyramids: Dwayne Johnson plays Mathayus, an Akkadian assassin hired to kill the sorceress who makes warlord Memnon (Steven Brand) unbeatable in battle. The plan was clean until Mathayus actually met the sorceress.

Cassandra (Kelly Hu) sees the outcome of every fight before it starts — which is precisely why Memnon keeps winning. Mathayus takes her, and suddenly the entire enemy army is behind him. He picks up unlikely allies: fierce chieftain Balthazar (Michael Clarke Duncan) and the inventor Philos (Bernard Hill), who builds Greek fire out of whatever he can find. The film runs 92 minutes and never slows down.
