Synopsis
Togo (2019) is an American adventure drama based on a true story you can watch online on iFILM. Director Ericson Core finally gives the real hero of the 1925 Nome serum run his due: while Balto got the headlines and the statue in Central Park, it was Leonhard Seppala and his lead sled dog Togo who covered the longest, most brutal stretch of the route. Willem Dafoe plays Seppala.
Diphtheria is spreading through Nome, Alaska. The only treatment is sitting in a warehouse hundreds of miles away. A relay of dog teams sets out across frozen terrain in temperatures that can kill a man in minutes. Seppala and Togo take on nearly two-thirds of the total distance — through blizzards, across the cracking ice of Norton Sound. Togo is twelve years old. Julianne Nicholson plays Constance, Seppala's wife, holding the home front while her husband disappears into the white.
Released directly on Disney+, the film works as both a survival story and a portrait of an extraordinary bond between a man and a dog. Stream Togo (2019) in good quality on iFILM.
