Sin City

Sin City (2005) is a genre-defining crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller himself, the film translates Miller's graphic novels panel by panel onto the screen — stark black and white, sudden splashes of colour, hard-boiled narration cut against razor-sharp violence.

Three interlocking stories run through Basin City: aging cop Hartigan (Bruce Willis) spends his last breath protecting an eight-year-old girl from a senator's monstrous son. Convicted killer Marv (Mickey Rourke) tears the city apart hunting whoever murdered the only woman who ever showed him kindness. And photographer Dwight (Clive Owen) stumbles into a turf war between corrupt cops and Gail's army of Old Town mercenaries — Rosario Dawson, Benicio del Toro and a near-silent Elijah Wood round out a cast that reads like a crime-fiction wishlist.
