The Skin I Live In (La piel que habito, 2011) is a Pedro Almodovar psychological thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Antonio Banderas plays Robert Ledgard, a gifted plastic surgeon engineering a synthetic skin that shrugs off burns and resists pain.

Inside his guarded country estate lives his test subject, Vera, a woman with flawless new skin whom the doctor never lets past the gate. Who she really is, and why he keeps her locked away, the film unwraps slowly through flashbacks, until an old personal tragedy and a revenge taken far too far come into view. Elena Anaya carries the role on a knife edge, where captive and captor keep trading places.

The script grew out of Thierry Jonquet's novel Tarantula, and Almodovar shoots his first true horror picture in cold surgical tones, stripped of his usual warmth.
