About

Synopsis

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) is an action-adventure from Paramount Pictures and Eidos Films — watch it online on iFILM. Director Simon West brought the iconic video game heroine to the screen with Angelina Jolie as Lady Lara Croft: British aristocrat, expert archaeologist, and ruthless fighter.

Once every five thousand years the planets align — and whoever holds both halves of a mysterious ancient triangle at that exact moment can control time itself. Lara discovers a clue hidden by her late father and realizes a shadowy Illuminati faction, led by the cold lawyer Manfred Powell (Iain Glen), is already after the artifact. The chase moves from her London mansion through the temple ruins of Angkor Wat to the frozen Siberian tundra. Along the way she reluctantly teams up with Alex West (Daniel Craig), a rival adventurer with his own agenda. Jon Voight plays Lord Richard Croft — Jolie's real-life father, which gives their scenes an unscripted charge.

One of the first major Hollywood blockbusters built entirely around a female action lead, the film earned over 274 million dollars worldwide against a 115-million-dollar budget. Stream Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) online on iFILM.
