Watch Cherry (2021) online on iFILM — a crime drama from Anthony and Joe Russo, with Tom Holland carrying nearly every frame. His character runs the full descent in a handful of years: college dropout, army medic in Iraq, veteran wrecked by PTSD, and finally a bank robber paying off dealers.

The one thing that keeps him standing is Emily, played by Ciara Bravo. He leaves school for her, enlists out of heartbreak, and returns broken. Pills numb the pain at first. Then the dose has to climb, and soon both of them are deep into heroin while the money runs dry. The only skill that ever pays is staying calm enough to walk into a bank and ask for the drawer. Jack Reynor circles the story as his dealer, grimly funny in a way that sharpens the dread.

It comes from Nico Walker's autobiographical novel, written while he was in federal prison. The Russos split the film into titled chapters, each shot in its own palette, and Holland deliberately strips away every bit of his Spider-Man charm — easily his most exposed work.
