Synopsis
A Knight's Tale (2001) is a Columbia Pictures adventure romance you can watch online on iFILM. Writer-director Brian Helgeland had a simple but insane idea: a 14th-century jousting tournament scored to Queen, David Bowie, and Thin Lizzy. Heath Ledger plays William Thatcher, a blacksmith's son who steals a dead knight's armor and rides into the arena as a nobleman.
William just wants to win. Standing in his way is Count Adhemar (Rufus Sewell), the kind of elegant villain who never raises his voice. In William's corner: penniless Geoffrey Chaucer (Paul Bettany), whose gift for crowd work is sharper than any lance; blacksmith Kate (Laura Fraser), who forges his path literally; and Jocelyn (Shannyn Sossamon), worth every risk he takes. Mark Addy and Alan Tudyk round out the crew as Roland and Wat, whose loyalty is tested along with their patience.
