Yuri Orlov grew up in a Brighton Beach immigrant family and decided the restaurant business was not his future. He found a steadier market: selling weapons to whoever was fighting, wherever the war. His brother Vitaly, played by Jared Leto, joins the operation and slowly comes apart. Interpol agent Jack Valentine — Ethan Hawke, playing it straight and relentless — tracks Yuri through one war zone after another, always arriving just a beat too late. Ian Holm is Simeon Weisz, a rival dealer happy to see Yuri dead. Meanwhile Yuri's wife Ava, played by Bridget Moynahan, has no idea where the money comes from.
